Great News for first time buyers!

I recently found this article in the LA TIMES, I thought it was quite interesting and felt strongly with sharing this news with you.  Great for my clients that have children who have currently been leasing, but who would like to buy.  The article discusses this tax law that benefits the first time buyer.  In addition to the great interest rates, some good opportunities ( great prices) in the real estate market combined with this tax law is a great incentive.  Attached is this article: Congress may make $7,500 home buyer tax credit more attractive.

Mortgage Rates

I received an email from Jeff Edwards from CS Financial and thought i’d share a little of his email with you before giving you the interest rates for the week:

There are no significant economic reports due for release this week, but that has not meant much for mortgage rates, as they continue to trade in a volatile fashion. If you haven’t noticed, mortgage rates have moved higher over the last two weeks. We think this move has more to do with industry capacity – handling the massive surge in refinance volume – than with the market fundamentals. In the long-term we see margins compressing as capacity increases and, coupled with the continued support of the Fed’s commitment to purchasing mortgage bonds, rates trending down.

The Recession and your Reaction

Obviously we are seeing that the recession is affecting everyone in 2009.  Business’s are letting people go and people are financially struggling to keep up with their lifestyles, however, this is the time for you to get smart.  I was doing a bit of reseach today and came upon this article: “It’s Not The Recession, It’s Your Reaction” .  This article grabbed me because it states:

If you use the recession as an excuse for anything, you’ll lose. If you decide to let these “down” times help you get ahead of those who seemed miles in front of you during the boom, you’ve got your mind in the right gear. It’s not the recession, it’s your reaction that matters.

Please take the time to read this article and let me know your thoughts and comments.
