Beverly Hills Opening Celebration

The city of Beverly Hills will be celebrating its famed zip code, 90210 on September 2, 2010 with an event headlined by international pop singer and Grammy nominee Natasha Beddingfield, along with CNN Talk show host Larry King as master of ceremonies. The Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce introduces Mayor Jimmy Delshad to kick off the evening’s festivities. Guests will be provided with unlimited food and drink from renowned Beverly Hills restaurants and chefs. Father’s Day Catch at Dodger Stadium

The Los Angeles Dodgers invite families on to the field at Dodger Stadium for the seventh annual Father’s Day Catch on June 20, 2010. The event, which will be held from 10:00am to 1:00pm, is free and provides families with the opportunity to play catch at Dodger Stadium in celebration of Father’s Day. Dodger partner Farmer John is donating Dodger dogs for the occasion, Sparkletts will provide water bottles and Coca Cola will supply PowerAde.
Fans can park for free at Dodger Stadium on Father’s Day. The Sunset Gate opens at 10am and families will enter through the center field gates. Music, merchandise, the Dodger Ticket truck and Dodger fan clubs will be on site for the event. The first 3,000 fans in attendance will get a complimentary Dodger dog!

Music at the Mansion Series Continues!
Sunday, May 23rd, 2pm – Greystone Mansion, Living room, 905 Loma Vista Drive, Beverly Hills
Hyun-Soo Lee and Chun-Chieh-Yen will perform this Sunday. Hyun-Soo has been awarded numerous top prizes in International piano competitions and has performed in the Korean Symphony, World Youth Symphony. Chun-Chieh is top prize winner of international competitions including Hamamutsu International piano competition in Japan.
Concerts include a light reception providing an opportunity to meet the performers and tour the first floor of the Greystone Mansion. Tickets are $25, $20 for Seniors, students and youth. For more information call (310) 285-6850.

The Playboy Jazz Festival will launch their popular free community concert series featuring Grammy nominee Bill Cunliffe and his Septet and Johnny Crawford and his Orchestra. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase to the public. Glass containers, alcoholic beverages and video/audio recorders are not allowed. Two free hours of parking are available at the Civic Center parking structure, adjacent to the Beverly Hills Library. Remember: Admission is FREE!

Tacky House

I’m really looking forward to a new show on Style channel called Tacky House. I’ve seen a few clips and so far it looks hilarious. The show targets homeowners with… let’s say, interesting taste of decor and rescues them from their decorative disasters with professional interior make-overs. I just love watching the “before and after” footage of these kinds of shows.
Not only is the basis of the show entertaining but I’m even more excited about the host being Thom Filicia. If his name rings a bell, that’s because he was one of the Fab Five guys of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. He was the interior design expert of the show and very fab himself! Or perhaps you’re familiar with his work. He redesigned the W Hotel here in Westwood (Los Angeles) California. Can you tell I’m a fan?
The show premieres this Wednesday April 21, 2010 at 11:00pm. You early birds will have to set your DVR’s and Tivo’s! Opening Home Series

After a small dose of April showers, the weather should clear and the sun should be shining just in time for Dodgers’ opening day at Dodger Stadium. The boys in blue will be taking on the Arizona Diamondbacks starting on Tuesday April 13th for their opening home series. The ball game starts at 1:10 but I suggest you get there early for the pregame entertainment like the National Anthem and the ceremonial first pitch!
I would like to also congratulate Tommy Lasorda for being inducted into the Cuban Sports Hall of Fame just last month in Miami, Florida. This marks his 16th enshrinement into a hall of fame.
